Poetry Out Loud and Outside
The Coalition for a Sustainable Cheshire, in collaboration with the Connecticut Poetry Society, hosted a poetry reading in this hidden gem known as Riverbound Farm Sanctuary, on the Quinnipiac River, at 1881 Cheshire Street, Cheshire, Connecticut, on October 9. The reading featured Margaret Gibson, Connecticut State Poet Laureate 2019 – 2022, editor of Waking up to the Earth: Connecticut Poets in a Time of Global Climate Crisis.
Riverbound Farm offers picturesque walking trails, one of which travels alongside the Quinnipiac River. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, wild turkey and bobcat. It has a wide variety of birds year-round and during migration. There is a pollinator garden in an open area just down one of the hiking trails, where one can sit and watch bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
